Infinity Play Entertainment recently had the opportunity to officiate a wedding for a couple battling COVID-19 and the side effects at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan.

On October 12th, a post was put out in the 517 Community Facebook page, looking for an officiant for a couple who had plans to have a “big” wedding, but the groom, Devlyn Kuehl had unfortunately been in the hospital for quite some time, fighting for his life with a second round of COVID-19 and the after effects, and the couple no longer wanted to wait and wanted to get married at the hospital.

Infinity Play Entertainment saw the post, and the post was already 50+ comments deep of kind folks offering their services. Stephen, owner of Infinity Play Entertainment offered to officiate, free of charge, and offered sincere hopes and wishes for them, even if we weren’t selected.

Sure enough, at least 50+ more comments after that… the couple’s friend, who was the one trying to find someone, reached out to Katie, Marketing for Infinity Play Entertainment, and asked if we could do it that very Saturday. We were already booked for another wedding out of town… but we could definitely do it early that day!

What we all didn’t know is that the kind staff at Sparrow Hospital had put together a nice set-up, complete with arch, flowers, cupcakes, etc. to surprise the couple. Local news was asked to cover the story, and what was going to be a bedside service was able to shared with the nation.

“For the day, nurses became flower girls.

The team who’s still taking care of Devlyn did everything to make today special for the two who decided to become one.

In a time when they’ve seen so much pain, being able to help a couple who they say is always so positive meant everything.

“That’s the biggest thing I love about my job is that we can when people are in their most vulnerable state give them something to be happy, and laugh and smile.” said Kristie Beckholt, Executive Medical Director “Something positive and then for our whole staff it’s a team here it effects everyone positively.”

“Do what you want to do. Don’t wait.” said Laurie Kuehl.

Infinity Play Entertainment was absolutely honored to be selected to partake in such a beautiful ceremony and display of love for Mr. and Mrs. Kuehl, and to work with the hospital and care staff at Sparrow Hospital to ensure the couple would have an extra special day.
